If you are experiencing problems with your MPL-50i or SPIC-50 Battery Charger you may require a software update. Here are the instructions needed to carry this out:

Connect the charger to the computer using the programming cable that Bosch will be mailing to you. If you need an extra cable it can be purchased here.

1. Download the software update zip file here.

2. Unzip the file (keep it in one folder)

3. (Please note Some PC/computers may require drivers to upload the software to the battery charger. If this is the case, download the VCP drivers from this link and follow the on screen instructions)

4. Make sure the battery charger is off

5. Open the “Li Charger Programmer” application

6. In the drop down window, select the correct charger type

7. To find the charger type, look at the back of your charger or follow these instructions

8. Serial port will automatically populate

9. Turn the charger on

10. Press “Program Unit”. It should show “Updating”, then “Finished”. This should take about 15 seconds

11. Close the programmer software and power down the battery charger

12. Disconnect the programming cable from the battery charger

13. Power up the battery charger and it will be running the updated software
