Which support unit should you choose?
Our charging products include a variation of support units, and each are designed for a different purpose. Here are the differences so you can decide which suits your set up the best:
Battery Support Units
The BSU units are primarily used in the workshop, during software updates, module reprogramming and diagnostic work - any time where the vehicle is in a Key On, Engine Off State and the vehicle’s systems are operating solely from the battery.
The unit provides a regulated power supply to sustain accessory loads and offset parasitic drain
Prevent loss of data and possible damage to control units.
Showroom Support Units
This unit has been designed for the showroom, to slip under most vehicles without scratching the floor surface.
Ensures that your vehicles are always ready for demonstration and that the battery will be kept in prime condition.
The intelligent sensing in the SSU2-50B determines exactly when support is required to minimize unnecessary noise and power consumption.
The silent version of the SSU2 was launched in 2021, which has reduced fan noise ensuring a noise free environment for your sales customers.
Combo Support Units
The CSU2-50B has two modes of operation, a BSU function and an SSU/CSU function.
This means that you can use one unit, and have the benefits of all the above
When the battery is charged the CSU is a regulated power supply to sustain accessory loads and offset parasitic drain with battery state detection, ensuring safe prolonged use.
In BSU mode a continuous power source is supplied to the battery until physically removed.
All Units
Can be used with any 12V automotive battery including AGM and GEL.
All our support units provide a stable voltage and up to 50 amps of fully regulated power to prevent loss of charge and damage to the battery.
Each unit are low profile (3.5”) so they can slip under vehicles easily, and be wall, ramp or trolley mounted. The size dimensions are the same for all units at 11” x 7.5” x 3.5” and 13.2lb.
Common features include reverse polarity protection.
All have output current display.
Support units are supplied with 5m IEC power lead and 5m output leads.
