Does your MPL50-Li Need An Upgrade?
You may have received or read some communication recently regarding the MPL50Li software update, but perhaps wondering whether yours needs the upgrade? There’s a simple test… Here’s what you need to know:
Testing the voltage output of your MPL50Li will indicate if you need the software update or not.
First, put the unit into support mode - all three lights on the until will be lit.
Activate the support mode.
If the output is 13.6 or below 14, you will need the update.
If it’s 14 and above, yours is up to date.
If you do need to do the upgrade, you will need an MPL50Li Software Update cable.

Once you have the cable, you can follow the software update process here.
One simple way to check if yours is running the latest software is to check the cable. All models with a braided cable will have the latest software.
It’s important to carry this update out on your charger not just to reach optimal performance, but continuing to use the until without the software update could potentially damage the battery charger, and could invalidate your warranty.
