Why Your Brand New Battery Might Need Some Attention...
So you’ve got a brand new car battery, but you find it’s already not in great shape? It’s more common that you’d think. Here’s why your battery might need some attention, and what to do about it.
Gone are the days where a battery change could be performed in minutes. The process of fitting can be quite time consuming and so if the battery is not in peak condition, it can be a frustrating, time consuming and a costly exercise.
The reason the brand new battery is not at peak performance, is because of it’s journey to you.
Very few batteries are manufactured locally. Most if not all have to undergo a long sea voyage enduring harsh environmental conditions during storage. The batteries often experience both extremes of temperature in a single journey.
Once docked, it can be some time before the batteries find their ways to a distribution center and then on to dealerships. This journey can take its toll on battery condition meaning that a "brand new" battery from your parts department could well be in quite a poor state.
The battery will therefore need charging, and potentially conditioning, before being fitted or sold on.
Our battery chargers can take care of this job. If you have multiple batteries, you should consider a bank charger, which will sequence around the multiple batteries, completing the bulk charge process and then moving onto the next battery.
Once all batteries have been charged to the bulk stage the unit will complete the top off charge on each battery and then go into maintenance mode.
